Hello

Thank you for taking time to learn about Spruce and Company! I’m honored to have your attention and hope that you’re able to find something you like from our product selection.

Spruce and Company got its name in 2021 when me and two college friends started a YouTube channel in Rochester, NY. The goal was to begin with a YouTube channel and hopefully build Spruce and Company into what it is today. The channel was named after the street where our beloved college house was located: Spruce Ave. But the meaning goes beyond that. “Spruce” ties in nicely with the environmental message we wanted to send while “Company” eludes to the community that we hoped to build and strengthen. And wrapping it all together into “Spruce and Company”, to me, gives the warm fuzzy feeling of being in a stove-warmed cabin on a quiet winter night, surrounded by all the people you love most. And who wouldn’t want that?

From 2021 to 2023 we posted a few videos showing off some of our projects. But then we graduated, moved apart and the project went on hold as well. After college, I personally spent a few years as an engineer working on products in life sciences, automotive, consumer, and many other industries. I found that time amazing and educational for so many reasons. However, driving shareholder value didn’t really speak to me as a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

So, instead, I’ve set out to focus my efforts on things that do get me out of bed:

• Sharing my creations

• Building community

• Supporting social and environmental causes

And I’ve proudly returned to my home in Rochester, NY to enact this focus and push the narrative that fulfillment can be found in uplifting others, conserving the natural world, and of course finding some time in between to have a nice meal with friends and family. And Spruce and Company is the vessel upon which I will be carrying this out.

Thank you again for visiting, and even if you don’t buy anything do me a favor and say something kind to a stranger tomorrow.
